Abundant Blessings
We've never filled stockings for our kids at Christmastime. I've always wanted to, but I've never gotten around to it. This year I decided to do it. I needed to go to Target this morning for a few things, so I thought I might pick them up there. As I sat on the couch this morning, I contemplated how I would fill each stocking, and then it struck me...this isn't going to be cheap! Purchasing four stockings and enough stuff to fill them wouldn't be a good idea this year with Phil in school.
I sat there, kind of sad about the whole thing, but then went outside to warm up the car. As I was outside, I noticed some footprints in the snow, leading up to our front porch. I followed them, and there was a box sitting by our front door.
This was what I found inside the box from my sweet Aunt!
Four filled stockings! Attached to each stocking is an ornament with each child's name.
Yes, that's a Starbucks gift card on top of the Christmas potholder and towel set!
"God does not measure out His goodness as the apothecary counts his drops and measures his potions slowly and exactly, drop by drop. God's way is always characterized by plenteous abundance and overflowing bounty. 'O Lord, cease Thy blessings; it is enough. I am only a clay vessel and can contain no more!'"

That is so amazing!!!
Yes, she continues to BLESS me abundantly also! God works in and through her in amazing ways. I couldn't get through this post without tearing up. I miss her and love her.
I am so glad you have snow so you could see the footprints!
I thought the same thing! How else would I have know that the mail carrier had dropped off a package? Our mail slot goes through to our coat closet, of all things, so we don't have to go outside to get our mail.
One day I noticed a box of checks sitting on the porch. They had been there all night, and we didn't even notice. Yikes!
Oh that's such a wonderful story! I have more than once felt a desire for something that the Lord shortly provided. It was as if He wanted me to really WANT it before He provided so that I would appreciate it as coming from Him.
What a great blessing!! It is amazing how much we have..how blessed we are to have so many things this time of year...so many families are without! Glad you can go get a warm treat..I LOVE Starbucks:)
Oh Jenny...excuse me while I blow my nose. I am so touched and just finished reading it to Audy.....thanks for reminding me of the little things God does....
