Busy Bodies

"Okay everybody. Sit on the couch so we can take a picture of the cousins in their jammies for Gramma."

Not exactly what I had in mind, but this will have to do.

Much better! The girls have matching Bitty Baby nightgowns. Their babies have matching jammies, but Gracie decided to dress her doll in something different.

Could this be the reason we're so busy? Nothing like a sugar cookie loaded up with frosting and candy just before quiet rest time!

The older kids played Clue Jr. during quiet rest time.

Hooray!

Morgan, Lindsay and Aunt Corinne arrived this afternoon! This will probably be our only sunny day all week, so I'm off to hide eggs while the kids are resting. We'll have our egg hunt after nap time.

Happy Easter

Easter Eve...Getting ready for the morning.

Jared came into my room this morning around 6:00 a.m. and asked if it was time to open Easter baskets. I told him to wait until after 7:00 a.m. When I got up, the kids were sitting in the living room listening to Jared read the story of Easter, baskets untouched.

Impossible is the word I would use to describe trying to take pictures of the kids in their church clothes this morning. I wanted them all lined up, sitting still with great big smiles adorning their sweet little faces. You would've thought that I let them eat all of their Easter candy before church!

We had our egg hunt after nap time this afternoon. Weather permitted us to have it indoors. The eggs were filled with Cheerios, goldfish crackers, fruit snacks and chocolate chips.

The 'Bob'bsey Twins

Haircut day again! I gave the girls little bobs.

Lily refused to turn and look at the camera.

When she finally turned her head, she wouldn't look at the camera. Just look at her little face. You can imagine what she's thinking..."I'm not going to look up! I'm not going to look up!" By the way, she dresses herself in the morning and insists that her tights are pants. I guess she was born 20 years too late!

Thank You

We appreciate your prayers! God has already answered one of them. We received a call this morning informing us that a rental car company found a car that will seat our whole family! We don't have to wait until Monday. Phil is picking it up right now. Click here to see it. In case you're wondering how we fit our family into a Jeep Grand Cherokee, click here to see how. Phil installed this seat two years ago when the twins were born, and it has worked wonderfully for our growing family. It was much cheaper than buying a new car.

I suppose our prayers for Jared are being answered as well, because he was very excited to watch our car being towed away this afternoon.

The damage is on the other side of the vehicle. I apologize to those of you who would have liked to see pictures. Bye bye, Little Red Jeep...you'll be missed. :(

Please Pray for Our Family

We were in a car accident this morning coming home from the library. A young girl drove through a 4-way stop and hit the passenger side of our car. Nobody was injured, except for minor soreness. Phil has had bad knees since his accident 2 years ago, and he's been limping around a bit this afternoon. Here are some of the ways you can pray for our family:

*Please pray for Jared. This really shook him up. He mentioned that he wishes it was only a dream.

*Please pray for Phil. He says that he feels some pain in his knees again, and numbness in the hand that was operated on last year. Some of you may not know that he had surgery on his knee, hand, wrist and elbow last spring.

*Please pray that we can find a rental car that seats 2 adults and can hold 4 car seats. Phil has been on the phone all afternoon, and NO ONE has anything available until Monday! Apparently there's a state basketball championship tournament this weekend and all of the cars and vans that seat several passengers have been rented.

For all of my Jane Austen friends...

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

If you take the quiz, please let me know who you are!

Preschooler Extraordinaire

Normally I post Jared's school projects in the right hand column of my blog, but today he came home with so many cute things. I couldn't possibly cram all of them into one picture.

Jared used to be my scribbler. Coloring was a chore for him. For some reason, he doesn't mind coloring for his teacher. Just look at this beautiful Easter egg! I'm so proud of him.

Step 35!!!!

Ta Da! Good job, Phil!

Here's a view from the back.

The swings are a big hit!

Done at last! Anybody wanna come play?

Peek-a-Boo!

We started out playing McDonald's drive thru and then it turned into a game of peek-a-boo.

**Totally off the subject, but as I was waiting for these pictures to download, there was a knock at the door. It was a salesman trying to sell me steaks. First of all, I'm not inclined to by things from door-to-door salesmen, and second of all, I'm not inclined to buy anything from someone who asks me, "Is your mom home?" I guess I'll take this as a compliment in 10 years. But for today, no sale, Buddy!

Sunshine and Progress

I guess I need to make sure I hold the camera straight next time!

Much can be accomplished with a little bit of sunshine!

Finally...Summer Fruit!

I know that technically it isn't even spring and that I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I love seeing strawberries, plums, nectarines and peaches at the grocery store!

I just pulled these out of the oven for tomorrow morning's breakfast. They're called Strawberry Shortcake Muffins. Mmmmmm!

This and That

Just to catch everybody up on what we've been doing around here...

We've spent a few days inside because of the rain. Unfortunately, we've had to put building the play structure on hold until the weather clears up. We woke up to snow this morning!

The kids received a package in the mail yesterday from my Aunt in Arkansas. Caleb is thrilled about having another lamb for his little fold.

Happy Palm Sunday! I'm so glad that I had my camera with me this morning. I didn't know that Jared's class was involved with the Palm Sunday song service.

Latte and a Movie?

Yesterday I stopped into Starbucks while running a few errands. I chatted with the barista while I waited for my coffee, and before I knew it, I was invited to a girls' movie night at her house. She's an older lady who has "her girls" (other female Starbucks employees) over to her house once in awhile for a movie night.

So there I sat with 8 complete strangers--6 Starbucks baristas, the daughter of the older woman, and the county health inspector who inspects their store from time to time. We had a great time!

**On a side note...did you know that there are Bloggiversaries? I didn't either, but today marks one year since I posted my first Blog post!

Just a Little Snack

Grace and Lily are enjoying their snack of pickles and white cheddar rice cakes. A strange combination, I know.
